May 7-8: Virtual Hill Days

Mark your calendar -- this Wednesday and Thursday COA will be joining the cancer community and others in reaching out to Representatives to Stop the Sequester Cut to Cancer Care.

During the Virtual Hill Days on May 7-8 next week, you need to contact your Representatives to enlist their help to stop the destructive sequester cut to payments for cancer drugs and other Part B drugs. Already, over 100 members of Congress have cosponsored the Cancer Patient Protection Act (H.R. 1416), which would stop the sequester cut. However, the bill needs more support and Congress needs to hear that this is a critical issue to the now and future of cancer care in this country.

There is a dedicated page (click here) on the COA website with instructions and materials/tools. These start with an overview for practices on the what this is about, why the sequester cut can be stopped now, and how to engage everyone in reaching out to their Representatives. Already, McKesson/US Oncology and AmerisourceBergen/ION are engaged, and other groups will be joining in reaching out to Representatives these 2 days.

Your voice is needed! If Congress hears nothing from you, Representatives will assume that the sequester cut is OK. So, speak up next week!
